BRB Roofing and Manufacturing is moving from its original home in Fort Gibson to Muskogee.
Within five years, BRB expects sales of the Thunder Canyon Fence Products to reach between $5 million and $6 million, the company said."Their business savvy has led them during strong economic times and enabled them to weather through difficult economic times," she said. "They have a stable workforce of staff and mobile crews who live in eastern Oklahoma. BRB is well-respected in all of Oklahoma and surrounding states."BRB is an example of a successful, family-owned and -operated Oklahoma company, said Connie Cunningham, manufacturing extension agent for the Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance."We're asking residents if they see people on porch roofs particularly at night, when clearly no maintenance work is taking place, to call police straightaway.Metal roofs are especially becoming popular in the southern states for their reflective and insulation properties. Metal roofs reflect about 70% of all direct sunlight. That causes the house to be a lot cooler during the hot summer months so you can have your air conditions running at a lower temperature. And its insulation keeps the cool air from your air conditioner in the house, as well as warmth from your furnace during the cold weather. Both these make for less energy use, and lower electric bills.Seabolt said the company has outgrown its site at 101 S. 2 Mile Rd. in Fort Gibson. BRB has moved into a 40,000-square-foot manufacturing and warehouse facility at 3143 N. 32nd St. on N. Highway 69. It includes 7,500 square feet of office space, the company said. The original location had 20,000 square feet of manufacturing and 5,000 square feet of office space."It is for people that want the fence to blend in with what they have - either the trim on their home or the color of the barn," Briggs said.Lumasteel Co., part of the BRB Metal Roofing and Manufacturing business, has introduced the distinctive fencing. The fencing is available in 14 colors, can last 25 years and is 100-percent recyclable. So with all these benefits, why not make the change to a tin roof? Youll save on electric bills, maintenance costs, and you dont even need to tear up your current roof to make the change!"Likewise, if you hear a suspicious noise on your roof in the night, again don''t delay, but call police immediately. By doing so, you could help to prevent a crime and help us catch those responsible for these thefts."In an era where "go green" or "go home" makes all the difference to customers, the new product is unlike its vinyl counterpart, Seabolt said.A misconception about a tin roof (as well as other types of metal) will sound much louder during a rain storm than some other materials. This is not true, and will in fact be no louder than other materials. This is because the metal is installed on top of felt and plywood which muffle the sound greatly.Lumasteel just received its patent for the 24-gauge sheet steel that assembles in the field and locks tight without any bolts, nails or screws. The target markets range from homes in suburban settings to 100- acre horse ranches or half-acre lots, said Doss Briggs, president of BRB Roofing.
BRB expects to be moved into the new facility, which was formerly the Trailer World building, by Friday.
