The basic, unpainted metal roof will reflect much of the solar radiation usually absorbed in your attic and home by an asphalt roof. But, for homes in warmer climates, pre-painted or granular coated metal roofing systems not only reflect solar energy but also cool your home by re-emitting most of what solar radiation is absorbed.Where annual cooling loads dominate, a highly reflective and highly emissive painted or granular-coated metal roof is optimal for reducing energy consumption and can actually re-emit up to 90% of absorbed solar radiation. Firefighters described as to blaze at pet crematory

A dozen firefighters responded to a fire at the Pikes Peak Pet Crematory early Saturday night.

The blaze was noted just previously six p.m. by a employee at the corporation. The employee was making use of a newly put in incinerator and noticed flames on the ceiling in the vicinity of the smokestack, Lt. Jeff Sievers of the Colorado Springs Fire Division says.

"By the time we arrived, he had it pretty noticeably knocked down," Sievers said.

Fire crews utilized power saws to lower by way of the metal roof of the generating at 2523 Durango Drive in southern Colorado Springs. Sievers explained there was fire harm to the roof and the firefighters were checking the area near the smokestack to make positive the blaze did not spread.

Fuel lines main to the incinerator had to be shut off while fire crews investigated. No person was harm in the course of the incident.
