Firefighters described as to blaze at pet crematory


A dozen firefighters responded to a fire at the Pikes Peak Pet Crematory early Saturday night.


The blaze was noted just previously six p.m. by a employee at the corporation. The employee was making use of a newly put in incinerator and noticed flames on the ceiling in the vicinity of the smokestack, Lt. Jeff Sievers of the Colorado Springs Fire Division says.


"By the time we arrived, he had it pretty noticeably knocked down," Sievers said.


Fire crews utilized power saws to lower by way of the metal roof of the generating at 2523 Durango Drive in southern Colorado Springs. Sievers explained there was fire harm to the roof and the firefighters were checking the area near the smokestack to make positive the blaze did not spread.


Fuel lines main to the incinerator had to be shut off while fire crews investigated. No person was harm in the course of the incident.
